Announcement: Mr. Eric Ho
Dear Members, We would like to announce that Eric Ho will take on the role of Vice-President Karting. Eric replaces Leslie Chang who stepped up to fill the role vacated by Kenneth Wong late last year. Eric is a Director of a SME involved in engineering works, food import and education. He is a board member of the Nan Hua school advisory/management since 2011. Eric started Karting in 1993 at the old Kallang Carpark C. First raced in 1994 Castrol Championship with 2 podiums and one FTD in Clubman Class. Stopped Karting in 1995 and back into Karting again in Malaysia 2007 at Permas Track. 2011 Overall Champion in Masters Class SKC (Singapore Karting Championship). Other than Karting, Eric loves snowboarding, wakeboarding and was the 2001 Kallang Open Novice Champion. He also enjoys singing and was the 2010 NUSS Karaoke competition 2nd runner up. We would like to wish Eric the best of luck in his new role and thank Leslie for helping Motor Sports Singapore as acting VP karting. Best Regards, MSS General Committee

X30 Asia Cup 2017
X30 Asia Cup 2017 held at the Sepang International G0-Kart circuit ended with quite a few Singapore drivers on the podium. Cadet category Yevan David placed 4th. In the juniors Alex Brown and Alex Kattoulas finished 4th and 5th respectively. Seniors saw Jon Lee in 4th and Romain Leroux in 5th. Masters had Ang Kok Wee in 3rd place, with Gary Koh and Andrian Ferguson in 4th and 5th. The Veterans category was dominated by the Singapore contingent with Lee Lung Nien finishing in 1st, Jeremy Lee in 2nd, Leon Khoo 3rd and Benjamin Chiang in 4th.

Made up of Elaine, Michelle & Cleo Choo who said, "...Weather helped us alot, we gained a couple of laps when most of the teams spun out on the heavy rain. But we being women, our strategy was to not take that risk and waste our clocked laps" #WIMSG (Women In Motorsport Singapore)

Singapore Drivers at Rotax Invitational 2017
Singapore drivers Romain Leroux, Eric Mancini and Lung-Nien Lee with on the podium at this weekends Rotax Invitational 2017 at Elite Plus Speedway in Malaysia. Congratulations to Romain for winning the Junior Category and Lung and Eric for finishing 1st and 2nd in the DD2 Veterans category.

Please join us in congratulating Claire in her new role in the SMSA
In our continuing effort to improve the standards and the initiatives at the Singapore Motor Sports Association, we would like to inform members and friends that we have co-opted Ms. Clarie Jedrek into the General Committee. Claire will be our representative in the Women in Motor Sports commission and together with Cecil Hamilton will lead our initiative in communications and branding. Claire Jedrek is currently Singapore's only female race car driver, winning her 1st podium placing of 2nd at the 2015 Malaysian F1 support race & 4th overall in the championship. 2016 is her 3rd season & she was awarded by the Singapore Motor Sport Association for Outstanding Achievement (Car). Claire is also a known local media personality. Previously hosting for ESPN FC and Starhub's Super Sports 360, Claire's job takes her from lifestyle fitness events by Net-A-Sporter and Nike, to live sporting events as a Swimming Presenter for the Singapore Sports TYR SEA Swimming Championship. Having hosted her own fitness series GetF!t with InSing.com, she's worked with HealthyMeTV to film a five part series on Mental Health for women and a four part Blogger's Cook-O with FoodForLifeTV, shown across Asia and Australia. Please join us in congratulating Claire in her new role in the SMSA.

Exciting Updates from the Pirelli Malaysia Superbike Championship seasons last race!
Khairul Anwar Jamil has been crowned the Production 250/MGP3 Champion for 2016! It was a close and intense battle with fellow Singaporean Muhammad Jazil Juraimi who had to settle for second place just one point behind in 211 points. In the Supersports A category Khurana Dhiraj finished a commendable 2nd Place in the Championships. Lets congratulate them and all other riders who flew our flag at this series.

President Lee Lung Nien and Titular Member to the World Motor Sports Council Tan Teng Lip represented Singapore at the FIA Annual General Assembly. The event was held in Vienna from 28th November to 2nd December. Topics such as Asia Zone Gymkhana, Volunteers & Officials, funding of events and mobility were discussed at the various sessions.
